There are many different ways to do erasure books. My approach is to find an old text in a physically sturdy old hardbound format that seems capable to me of transformation both in terms of language (erasing or crossing-out most of the original text to find something unexpected and alive) and of image (the juxtaposition of collage images with the newly created texts). I’ve erased theological books, safety manuals, plays of Euripides and Shakespeare and I’m always on the lookout for new and promising old books to erase.
